Rear Admiral Robley D. Evans, was appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy from Utah and graduated in the class of 1864. He later rose to command teh Battleship USS Iowa during the Spanish AMerican War in 1898 and in 1908 he was commander of the "Great White Fleet" on it's famous "Cruise Around the World."
