Roster of Utah Volunteers of Spanish American War

List of U. S. Volunteers from Utah in the Spanish American War and Philippine Insurrection. Also list of battles participated in by Batteries A and B from Utah in the Philippine Islands. - Taken from Deseret News, August 19, 1899, pp. 9, 10.

[Webmaster note: reformatted for on line use. It was noted that names of casualties do not always correspond with roster names, so there are likely errors injected when originally typeset in the newspaper, when transcribed, or when scanned.]

24th U.S. INFANTRY REGIMENT and 9th U.S. CAVALRY REGIMENT

Although not Utah volunteers, these two regular Army regiments were stationed at Fort Douglas prior to the War, and ordered from there on April 20, 1898, and arrived in Cuba in time to be part of the attack on San Juan Hill. These two regiments returned to Fort Douglas on 2 September 1898. In 1899 the Regiments were reassigned to other posts in the United States.
